There is a vibrant shopping precinct less than 150 metres away, simply cross the road to the East Brunswick Village: a major supermarket, micro-brewery, upmarket liquor store, organic grocery store, a restaurant and bar (Rocket Society is highly recommended) and boutique cinemas. Melbourne’s internationally famous Route 96 tram is 2 mins from your doorstep. Hop on board and visit the Princess Theatre, jump off at Bourke Street for some retail therapy in the CBD or skip the lot and stay on for the ride to St Kilda beach. Nearby Lygon Street is definitely worth the short walk for a range of bars and restaurants (Etta, Old Palm Liquor, Bluebonnet BBQ and Bar Idda just to name a few). Make sure to leave room for a sneaky late-night gelato from Gelato Messina on the walk home, just off Lygon Street. Alternatively, the corner bus stop will take you to the popular Sydney Road for more bars and cafes and a diverse range of dining options.

Brunswick East, residents and visitors have convenient access to various transport options. The area is well-served by public transportation, including trams and buses. Tram route 96 runs regularly providing easy access to Melbourne’s city centre and St Kilda.. There is a bus stop on the corner of Glenlyon and Nicholson Streets, several bus routes pass through the area, offering further connectivity to nearby neighbourhoods and attractions. The 506 will take you to Moonee Ponds and Westgarth Station, in Northcote. For those preferring to drive, Glenlyon Road connects to major roadways such as Nicholson Street and Sydney Road, providing quick access to the city and beyond. Overall, Glenlyon Road offers a well-connected transportation hub, making it easy to explore all that Melbourne has to offer.
The Route 1 tram. The 96 tram is closer to our home and much more direct to the CBD and St Kilda. There is a bus stop on the corner of Glenlyon and Nicholson Streets, the 506 to Moonee Ponds and Westgarth Station, in Northcote.
