Head to Nelson Bay for a day of fun. As the largest town in the Port Stephens region, Nelson Bay is a vibrant and lively seaside escape for families and tourists alike. With plenty of fun activities and experiences on offer, including dolphin watching cruises departing from the Marina all year-round and whale watching cruises from May to November. Cycling the Bartlett bikeway is a fantastic way to explore the stunning waterfront, stretching for 5 kilometres and finishing up near the heritage-listed Nelson Head lighthouse, built in 1875. Just a 2.5-hour drive north from Sydney and 34 kilometres from Newcastle Airport, Boat Harbour is an absolute must-do when it comes to seaside escapes.

Birubi Beach acts as an access point to the Worimi Conservation Lands for those with 4-wheel drive vehicles with a WCL beach vehicle permit.
