If you could live anywhere in the world for six months, where would it be and why?
Having grown up in Italy and lived in France, Spain, Canada and China before eventually calling Australia home , I have been lucky enough to experience many different cultures and ways of life. But if I could go anywhere for six months right now, I would go back to Italy without hesitation. At this stage of my life it is less about adventure and more about connection, spending time with family, slowing down, and making sure my kids grow up with a real exposure to the Italian language and culture.
What’s your favourite part of working in the short-term rental industry?
We are in the business of creating memories: a family finally taking that holiday they have been planning for months, a couple celebrating something special, kids experiencing a place they will talk about for years. But we are also trusted with something much bigger , the homes and investments that our property owners have worked incredibly hard for. Knowing that we are protecting and growing what is often the most important asset in someone’s life is a responsibility I take seriously and genuinely love. And then there is the industry itself , short-term rental moves fast, it is constantly changing, and there is always something new to navigate. That energy keeps me motivated and makes every day feel different.
What’s one tip you’d give to someone looking to list their property as a short-term rental?
My number one tip is to think like a guest before you list. The properties that consistently outperform are the ones where the owner has genuinely thought about what makes a stay feel effortless and special , fast WiFi, a well-equipped kitchen with the things people actually use like a rice cooker or a good coffee machine, and little touches that make guests feel looked after rather than just accommodated. Presentation matters enormously too , professional photography is non-negotiable. Guests make decisions in seconds based on how a property looks online, and the difference between average photos and great photos can be worth thousands of dollars a year in additional bookings. And finally , pricing. Dynamic pricing is something a lot of owners underestimate. Getting your nightly rate right based on seasonality, local events, and demand patterns is what separates a good return from a great one. A beautifully presented property priced incorrectly will always underperform.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I am happiest when I am on or in the water , whether that is out on the boat or diving. I also love spending time with my kids, whether that is kicking a ball around, going for a walk, or just being present with them. Family is everything to me. I am a big sports fan , tennis, football, and now with Kimi Antonelli on the grid, F1 has taken on a whole new level of excitement. I also have a genuine love for good food and the kind of long meals that turn into long conversations. And honestly, living in Australia makes all of this easier. The coastline, the lifestyle, the space , we are very lucky to be here.
